Vilantae (d-Calcium Pantothenate) vs. Accutane (isotretinion)

Vilantae and Accutane (isotretinion) go after acne in basically the same way. They try to prevent the over production of oil at the source of the problem.

There are a few key differences between the two however.

Side effects of Accutane (isotretinion)

• Dry and crackily skin, itching, dry nose, joint pains, nosebleed, cracked lips, pinkeye, and skin that sunburns easily.

• Less common effects are vision problems, thinning hair, upset stomach, decreased night vision, chest pain, headache, nausea, rash, depression, decreased tolerance to contact lenses, urinary discomfort, liver damage, depression.

• You must not get pregnant while taking Accutane. It causes severe birth defects.

Other things to consider.

• Not available without a prescription.

• Is very expensive.

• Doctors are very frugale about giving it away. They consider it a "last resort" to stopping acne.

• Requires frequent blood tests.

• Doctors generally only prescribe it for six months, afterwards your acne may very well return.

Side effects of Vilantae (d-Calcium Pantothenate)

•A loosening of the stool (generally goes away after the first month or two).

•Possible stomach irritation.

• Possible headaches during the initial detoxification (the 1st week or so of starting). It is a rare effect.
It is more common among women.

• Out of precaution, you should not take Vilantae if you are pregnant or breast feeding.

Other things to consider.

• 100% all natural and available
without a prescription.

• Is much less expensive.

• Does not dry out the skin. Helps restore a person's natural glow.

• Aside from all the advantages of Vilantae over Accutane, Accutane is more effective at stopping the very worst acne. Consider Vilantae as the more graceful of the two, while Accutane is the one with more brute strength.

• If you have severe acne you should talk to your dermatologist about whether Accutane (isotretinion) or Vilantae (d-Calcium Pantothenate) might be right for you. Vilantae can often be a good alternative to try before taking the final step to Accutane.

An interesting note.
If you type in "Accutane" with the word "effect" in Yahoo, you'll get about five different paid advertisements from law firms expressing their ability to sue over the damaging effects of Accutane. We tend to think Accutane is made out to be worse than it really is. But, because of all the legal liabilities, doctors are very stringent about giving it out. Sometimes they do in their own best interest and not necessarily yours.
